Initial Ideas

Below is a group of music videos appeal to the genre and style of the music video we wish to create as a group.

Bastille- 'Pompeii'

We chose this music video because of the song lyrics are relatable to the filming we wish to do. Also it has a very distinct drum beat throughout which will be very useful when composing our music video and using drum kits.

Madeon- 'Finale'

We also chose this music video simply because of the song not the music video. The song has a strong fast beat that would look good with fast editing and well filmed short clips.

Sub Focus- 'Tidal Wave'

This music video was very appealing with the different camera shots. However we would not be able to use this song as would be very difficult to produce an effective video without using a beach which is not in our original ideas.

Thirty Seconds To Mars- 'Up In The Air'

The conventions used in this music video are extremely effective in our opinion as they use random clips of people cutting inbetween shots. We especially like the use of powder paint in slow motion and the drummers in ski masks.

Chase & Status- 'Lost & Not Found'

We like the idea of being lost as we could use the lyrics to create a story throughout the music video. Also the soundtrack and singers in the group are filmed very professionally with various close ups of the main singer. There is a strong sense of loss of identity present in this music video.

Wretch 32 ft Shakka- 'Blackout'

We also like the soundtrack to this song as it has a very melow drum beat throughout however the only negative to this song is that it features rap which we didn't want to include in our music video.
