Initial Music Video Pitch
Negative: There was a lot of negative feedback from our teacher mainly to do with the song choice and the story/narrative behind it. It was suggested that our idea for our narrative would come across too similar to the original music video. Also some of the settings for our video were seemed to be too un realistic and challenging when we should focus more on the performance side of the video.
Positive: Our costume styles and props that we intend to use were approved and some of our creative ideas involving After Effects and other Editing Software seemed "promising" and "exciting". Another positive to our pitch were the actors for our music video we intended to use. Compared to other groups in the class we were praised on the fact that our chosen actors did not look too young instead they fit the style and genre of our idea for our music video.
Feedback
To present our pitch to our peers and teacher we decided to do this in the format of a Prezi presentation which would enable interactivity with the audience and provide a visual display of our ideas. The presentation lasted for roughly 5-10 minutes and then the feedback, note taking at the end.
Due to our negative feedback we felt that to create a successful level 5 music video we would have to change our song choice and our narrative idea. To do this we, as a group, sat down and brainstormed ideas for a lesson, not watching the music videos of songs but instead just listening. We eventually found a song that fitted in with our previous idea of our narrative that we could alter to align with our new song. We then sat down with our teacher the next lesson and pitched our new ideas in a brief meeting.
